156,000 registered bed nights
In May 2020, 156,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (-84.1 %), of which 121,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 35,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 78 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 84 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (5,200 nights).
54,200 rooms (-82.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 49,500 rooms (-84.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 1.2 million registered bed nights (-46.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 644,000 (-57.6 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 1.8 million (-50.7 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 87 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.5 percent were domestic, and 15.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.2 nights (+0.42) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+1.1).
32,000 air travelers
The airport received a total of 32,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 97 percent.
Of local passengers, 77.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 22.8 %.
In addition, there were 28,000 passengers departing the airport (-97.8 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 60,000 (-97.6 %).

Registered January-May sales were 1.4 billion crowns and they decreased 1.8 billion crowns from the previous year.

Domestic visitors and their consumption
The number of domestic visitors in May was 177,000 (-82.9 %). Out of them 75,800 were on a daytrip and 102,000 stayed at least for one night.
The cumulative number of domestic visitors between January and May was 2.0 million (-49.7 %).
Total consumption of these visitors in Stockholm in May was 299.4 million crowns (1,688 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 243.6 million crowns and day visitors 55.8 million crowns. Between January and May the consumption was 5.4 billion crowns.
