319,000 registered bed nights

In July 2020, 319,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (-72.4 %), of which 263,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 56,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 72 percent from last year's July.

115,000 rooms (-71.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 52,700 rooms (-67.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 1.6 million registered bed nights (-51.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 740,000 (-71.6 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 2.3 million (-60.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 9.4 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 8.8 million nights (-5.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 551,000 nights (-86.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 3.4 % (-5.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 10.2 %.

163,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 68 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.2 percent were domestic, and 12.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 1.8 nights (-0.28) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.31).

147,000 air travelers

The airport received a total of 147,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 89 percent.

Of local passengers, 68.1 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 31.9 %.

In addition, there were 177,000 passengers departing the airport (-86.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 324,000 (-87.8 %).

Registered accommodation sales in July were 141.0 million crowns (-499.9 million).

Registered January-July sales were 1.7 billion crowns and they decreased 3.1 billion crowns from the previous year.

The number of domestic visitors in July was 516,000 (-45.9 %). Out of them 245,000 were on a daytrip and 271,000 stayed at least for one night.

The cumulative number of domestic visitors between January and July was 2.8 million (-53.3 %).

Total consumption of these visitors in Stockholm in July was 834.9 million crowns (1,619 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 645.7 million crowns and day visitors 189.2 million crowns. Between January and July the consumption was 6.8 billion crowns.
