Registered bed nights increased 123 percent

In July 2021, 712,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+123.1 %), of which 532,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 180,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 102 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 220 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 123 percent from last year's July.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (25,500 nights).

240,000 rooms (+111.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 104,000 rooms (+95.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 1.7 million registered bed nights (+7.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 519,000 (-29.9 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 2.2 million (-4.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.8 percent

Total of 12.2 million registered bed nights (+30.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 10.7 million nights (+21.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.5 million nights (+175.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 5.8 % (+2.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.0 % and foreign bed nights 11.9 %.

338,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 107 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.9 percent were domestic, and 21.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.0 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.22).

454,000 air travelers

The airport received a total of 454,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 210 percent.

Of local passengers, 77.5 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 22.5 %.

In addition, there were 494,000 passengers departing the airport (+179.2 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 948,000 (+192.6 %).

Registered January-July sales were 1.2 billion SEK and they decreased 498.0 million euro from the previous year.
