Registered bed nights increased 92 percent

In May 2022, 6,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Storuman (+92.2 %), of which 3,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 430 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 92 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (2,600 nights).

690 rooms (+14.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,400 rooms (+68.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 35,100 registered bed nights (+59.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,100 (+492.6 %) for foreigners in Storuman, in total 50,200 (+104.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Storuman out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

2,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 172 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 43.5 percent were domestic, and 56.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 2.6 nights (-0.35) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-2.1).
