Paid bed nights

8,700 registered bed nights

In December 2018, 8,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Storuman (-6.7 %), of which 6,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 30 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,600 nights).

1,400 rooms (-15.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 920 rooms (+58.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 108,000 registered bed nights (-5.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 53,700 (+9.8 %) for foreigners in Storuman, in total 162,000 (-0.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Storuman out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Storuman, length of stay in December was on average 3.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 3.9 nights (+1.8 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+2.9 %).

2,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.0 percent were domestic, and 26.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 3.9 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.03).
