Paid bed nights

19,900 registered bed nights

In March 2019, 19,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Storuman (-1.2 %), of which 15,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (4,100 nights).

3,100 rooms (-14.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (+14.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 30,500 registered bed nights (-1.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,900 (-19.8 %) for foreigners in Storuman, in total 43,300 (-8.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Storuman out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Storuman, length of stay in March was on average 3.3 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 3.5 nights (+7.5 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-0.2 %).

6,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.2 percent were domestic, and 26.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 3.5 nights (+0.18) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+0.3).
