Paid bed nights

11,700 registered bed nights

In February 2020, 11,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Storuman (-12.7 %), of which 7,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 11 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 13 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (3,100 nights).

1,800 rooms (-4.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 880 rooms (-25.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 12,900 registered bed nights (-15.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,100 (-11.6 %) for foreigners in Storuman, in total 20,100 (-14.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Storuman out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Storuman, length of stay in February was on average 3.4 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 3.3 nights (-5.1 %) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+0.1 %).

3,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 68.5 percent were domestic, and 31.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Storuman on average 3.3 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 3.5 nights (+0.44).
