Registered bed nights increased 104 percent
In December 2021, 7,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Strömstad (+103.7 %), of which 3,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 21 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 700 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 104 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (3,100 nights).
1,700 rooms (+82.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 690 rooms (+23.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 346,000 registered bed nights (+10.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 116,000 (+68.1 %) for foreigners in Strömstad, in total 462,000 (+20.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 121 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 47.2 percent were domestic, and 52.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Strömstad on average 2.2 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-1.4).
