Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In February 2023, 16,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Strömstad (+3.4 %), of which 3,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased less than one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (11,400 nights).

2,200 rooms (+21.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 940 rooms (-10.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 6,700 registered bed nights (+2.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 22,500 (+37.1 %) for foreigners in Strömstad, in total 29,200 (+27.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+20.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 756,000 nights (+32.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Strömstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay increased 74 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 74 percent compared to earlier year. In Strömstad, length of stay in February was on average 3.4 nights and in Sweden 6.6 nights (+213.5 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Strömstad on average 6.6 nights (+174.3 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+57.5 %).

4,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 12.2 percent were domestic, and 87.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Strömstad on average 6.6 nights (+4.5) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+1.0).
