Registered bed nights increased 47 percent

In August 2022, 142,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Strömstad (+46.7 %), of which 66,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 75,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 197 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 47 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (58,900 nights).

6,800 rooms (-13.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,400 rooms (+232.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 291,000 registered bed nights (-8.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 376,000 (+383.9 %) for foreigners in Strömstad, in total 667,000 (+68.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.6 percent

Total of 8.8 million registered bed nights (+5.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.5 million nights (-4.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.3 million nights (+44.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Strömstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (+0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 3.3 %.

49,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 62 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 43.7 percent were domestic, and 56.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Strömstad on average 3.1 nights (-0.39) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.16).
