Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In December 2018, 16,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Strömstad (+5.6 %), of which 4,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (11,600 nights).

2,100 rooms (-23.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,700 rooms (+106.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 271,000 registered bed nights (+9.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 544,000 (+6.2 %) for foreigners in Strömstad, in total 815,000 (+7.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Strömstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.6 %.

Length of stay increased 220 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 220 percent compared to earlier year. In Strömstad, length of stay in December was on average 5.6 nights and in Sweden 7.9 nights (+396.7 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Strömstad on average 7.9 nights (+8.4 %) and foreigners 5.1 nights (+1.8 %).

3,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 67 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 16.7 percent were domestic, and 83.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Strömstad on average 7.9 nights (+6.3) and foreigners 5.1 nights (+3.3).
