Registered bed nights increased 109 percent

In April 2021, 26,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (+109.2 %), of which 24,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 104 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 230 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 109 percent from last year's April.

6,500 rooms (+132.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,000 rooms (+83.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 96,500 registered bed nights (-6.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,100 (+3.0 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 103,000 (-5.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

16,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 102 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.6 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.53).
