Registered bed nights increased 29 percent

In September 2021, 47,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (+28.8 %), of which 42,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 107 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's September.

14,600 rooms (+78.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 18,600 rooms (+6.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 373,000 registered bed nights (+12.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 33,300 (+96.0 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 407,000 (+16.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

28,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.1 percent were domestic, and 8.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.6 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.28).
