43,900 registered bed nights

In March 2023, 43,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (-1.8 %), of which 40,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 37 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's March.

11,900 rooms (+4.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 18,600 rooms (+3.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 109,000 registered bed nights (+15.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 9,100 (-31.0 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 118,000 (+9.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in March was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.5 nights (-0.2 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-20.6 %).

28,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.5 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.49).
