22,100 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 22,100 bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (-40.3 %), of which 20,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 38 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 64 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 40 percent from last year's March.

4,000 rooms (-58.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,100 rooms (-28.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 90,600 bed nights (-7.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,500 (-32.2 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 96,000 (-9.5 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

14,900 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.5 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.41).
