12,600 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 12,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (-64.0 %), of which 12,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 62 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 85 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 64 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (142 nights).

2,800 rooms (-55.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,100 rooms (-68.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 103,000 registered bed nights (-20.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,900 (-47.7 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 109,000 (-23.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 12 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in April was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.7 nights (+2.9 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-10.2 %).

7,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 68 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.7 percent were domestic, and 3.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.7 nights (+0.23) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.45).
