20,600 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 20,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (-56.1 %), of which 20,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 560 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 87 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 56 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (129 nights).

3,900 rooms (-56.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,700 rooms (-64.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 123,000 registered bed nights (-28.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,500 (-58.6 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 129,000 (-31.2 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in May was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.8 nights (+2.8 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-12.6 %).

11,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 59 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.5 percent were domestic, and 2.5 percent were from foreign countries.
