36,800 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 36,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (-14.8 %), of which 34,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 48 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 15 percent from last year's September.

8,600 rooms (-5.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 16,700 rooms (-20.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 332,000 registered bed nights (-13.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,000 (-68.0 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 349,000 (-20.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-20.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (-62.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in September was on average 1.4 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+4.9 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.4 nights (+3.4 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-5.2 %).

25,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.6 percent were domestic, and 5.4 percent were from foreign countries.
