Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In October 2020, 46,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (+3.2 %), of which 43,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (880 nights).

10,900 rooms (+40.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 18,100 rooms (-17.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 375,000 registered bed nights (-12.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,900 (-64.9 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 395,000 (-18.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-23.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-15.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 450,000 nights (-51.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.5 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in October was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+7.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.6 nights (+3.1 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-4.5 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.6 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.92).
