Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 96 percent

In November 2021, 47,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (+95.8 %), of which 44,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 96 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 93 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 96 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (1,000 nights).

12,900 rooms (+126.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 18,000 rooms (+57.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 465,000 registered bed nights (+16.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 40,600 (+88.3 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 505,000 (+20.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (+134.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+133.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 575,000 nights (+145.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in November was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-21.7 %).

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.6 nights (+5.2 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+12.3 %).

28,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 80 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.6 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 2.5 nights (0.0).
