Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 66 percent

In April 2022, 43,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sundsvall (+66.5 %), of which 39,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 60 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 165 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 66 percent from last year's April.

10,500 rooms (+65.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,300 rooms (+85.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 134,000 registered bed nights (+39.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,500 (+184.9 %) for foreigners in Sundsvall, in total 152,000 (+47.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sundsvall out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Sundsvall, length of stay in April was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.5 nights (-11.5 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-16.6 %).

29,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 91 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sundsvall on average 1.5 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.99).
