Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 16 percent

In February 2020, 11,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Sunne (+16.2 %), of which 9,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 42 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 40 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 16 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (430 nights).

4,300 rooms (+7.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (+48.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 16,600 registered bed nights (+24.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,600 (-30.5 %) for foreigners in Sunne, in total 19,200 (+12.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sunne out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Sunne, length of stay in February was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunne on average 2.0 nights (+26.1 %) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+52.3 %).

5,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.3 percent were domestic, and 10.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunne on average 2.0 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+1.3).
