Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 20 percent

In February 2023, 9,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Sunnhordland (+20.0 %), of which 7,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 58 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's February.

1,500 nights (+51.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,200 nights (+23.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 15,200 registered bed nights (+24.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,800 (+40.0 %) for foreigners in Sunnhordland, in total 18,100 (+26.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 2.1 million registered bed nights (+18.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 577,000 nights (+23.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sunnhordland out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Sunnhordland, length of stay in February was on average 2.5 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-9.6 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 2.2 nights (-13.9 %) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+4.3 %).

3,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.1 percent were domestic, and 8.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 2.2 nights (-0.16) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+0.81).
