Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 40 percent

In April 2021, 10,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Sunnhordland (+40.1 %), of which 10,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 620 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 37 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 103 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 40 percent from last year's April.

800 nights (+542.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,700 nights (-8.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 34,700 registered bed nights (+21.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,700 (+28.2 %) for foreigners in Sunnhordland, in total 38,500 (+22.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 883,000 registered bed nights (+166.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 788,000 nights (+184.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 94,300 nights (+75.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sunnhordland out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-1.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 3.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 44 percent compared to earlier year. In Sunnhordland, length of stay in April was on average 3.1 nights and in Norway 2.8 nights (-3.0 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 3.0 nights (+32.4 %) and foreigners 9.3 nights (+271.5 %).

3,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 148 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 3.0 nights (-2.4) and foreigners 9.3 nights (-0.58).
