Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In June 2021, 24,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Sunnhordland (+14.7 %), of which 23,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 990 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's June.

5,900 nights (+47.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,500 nights (+14.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 77,700 registered bed nights (+22.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,400 (+16.4 %) for foreigners in Sunnhordland, in total 83,100 (+22.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.8 million registered bed nights (+18.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.6 million nights (+18.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 143,000 nights (+11.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sunnhordland out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay increased 14 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Sunnhordland, length of stay in June was on average 2.5 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (+6.9 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 2.5 nights (+14.5 %) and foreigners 4.1 nights (+155.8 %).

9,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.5 percent were domestic, and 2.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 2.5 nights (+0.28) and foreigners 4.1 nights (+1.7).
