Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 50 percent

In April 2022, 16,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Sunnhordland (+49.8 %), of which 13,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 38 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 50 percent from last year's April.

2,200 nights (+173.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,700 nights (-34.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 35,300 registered bed nights (+1.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,400 (+71.0 %) for foreigners in Sunnhordland, in total 41,700 (+8.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+166.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.9 million nights (+143.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 434,000 nights (+360.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sunnhordland out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Sunnhordland, length of stay in April was on average 2.6 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (-24.2 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 2.5 nights (-34.0 %) and foreigners 3.4 nights (-62.9 %).

6,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.6 percent were domestic, and 10.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sunnhordland on average 2.5 nights (-0.47) and foreigners 3.4 nights (-5.9).
