Registered bed nights increased 100 percent

In November 2021, 5,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Svalbard (+100.2 %), of which 3,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 45 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 720 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 100 percent from last year's November.

5,200 nights (+91.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 136 nights (+38.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 64,200 registered bed nights (+43.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,900 (-36.8 %) for foreigners in Svalbard, in total 76,000 (+20.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 2.0 million registered bed nights (+132.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+133.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 247,000 nights (+123.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Svalbard out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

2,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 129 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 69.8 percent were domestic, and 30.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Svalbard on average 2.6 nights (-0.49) and foreigners 3.1 nights (-0.49).

Accommodation sales 4.6 million crowns

Registered accommodation sales in November were 4.6 million crowns (+2.3 million).

Registered January-November sales were 71.3 million crowns and they increased 17.8 million euro from the previous year.
