Sweden: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased four percent
In October 2019, 4.1 million bed nights were recorded in Sweden (+3.8 %), of which 3.1 million nights were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased six percent and foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, bed nights increased four percent from last year's October.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (125,000 nights).
Between January and October, 44.3 million bed nights (+4.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16.0 million (+1.7 %) for foreigners in Sweden, in total 60.3 million (+3.6 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

1.7 million air travelers
The airport received a total of 1.7 million passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased five percent.
Of local passengers, 66.8 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 33.2 %.
In addition, there were 1.8 million passengers departing the airport (-4.4 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 3.0 million (-3.4 %).

1.0 million passengers by ferries
There were 1.0 million arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port increased one percent. Most arrivals were from Finland (352,000 arrivals).

Accommodation sales 2.5 billion SEK
Registered accommodation sales in October were 2.5 billion SEK (+61.9 million).
Registered January-October sales were 25.4 billion SEK and they increased 1.2 billion euro from the previous year.
