Tahko: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 910 percent
In April 2021, 6,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Tahko (+908.0 %), of which 6,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 57 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 1,100 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 37 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 910 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (8.0 nights).
5,000 nights (+927.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,000 nights (+821.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 40,700 registered bed nights (+16.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 380 (-95.1 %) for foreigners in Tahko, in total 41,100 (-4.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 1,200 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.0 percent were domestic, and 1.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tahko on average 3.0 nights (-0.51) and foreigners 2.7 nights (-15).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 31 percent
A total of 26,200 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 68.4 percent.

Russian visa applications decreased 87 percent
There was a total of 1,100 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 40.1 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 327,000 euro
Registered accommodation sales in April were 327,000 euro (+303,000).
Registered January-April sales were 2.2 million euro and they increased 63,200 euro from the previous year.
