Tahko: Tourism in a nutshell
10,000 registered bed nights
In June 2019, 10,000 bed nights were recorded in Tahko (-18.4 %), of which 9,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 450 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 19 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 18 percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (270 nights).
8,800 nights (-23.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+38.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 63,200 bed nights (-6.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,900 (-17.0 %) for foreigners in Tahko, in total 74,100 (-8.4 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

4,400 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 96.4 percent were domestic, and 3.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tahko on average 2.3 nights (-0.23) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-0.11).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased one percent
A total of 281,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 91.3 percent.

Russian visa applications increased 10 percent
There was a total of 72,500 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 81.0 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 482,000 euro
Registered accommodation sales in June were 482,000 euro (-4,300).
Registered January-June sales were 3.6 million euro and they increased 110,000 euro from the previous year.
