Tahko: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 25 percent
In May 2022, 3,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Tahko (+25.0 %), of which 3,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 107 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 530 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 25 percent from last year's May.
2,400 nights (+3.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (+127.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 54,000 registered bed nights (+24.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,700 (+1,087.9 %) for foreigners in Tahko, in total 58,700 (+33.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

2,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 81 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.0 percent were domestic, and 3.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tahko on average 1.6 nights (-0.72) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.48).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased 36 percent
A total of 32,800 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 76.2 percent.

Registered accommodation sales in May were 173,000 euro (+50,800).
Registered January-May sales were 3.3 million euro and they increased 989,000 euro from the previous year.
