7,900 registered bed nights

In April 2019, 7,900 bed nights were recorded in Tahko (-0.3 %), of which 7,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 420 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased four percent and foreign bed nights decreased 43 percent. In total, bed nights decreased less than one percent from last year's April.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (150 nights).

6,700 nights (+6.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,200 nights (-25.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 50,900 bed nights (-2.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,300 (-17.6 %) for foreigners in Tahko, in total 61,200 (-5.3 %) nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.6 million bed nights (+2.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+4.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 356,000 nights (-3.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Tahko out of total bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

3,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.0 percent were domestic, and 3.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tahko on average 2.3 nights (0.0) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+0.01).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased three percent

A total of 249,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

The share of southeastern border stations was 91.4 percent.

There was a total of 76,000 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 83.1 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.

Accommodation sales 414,000 euro

Registered accommodation sales in April were 414,000 euro (+83,100).

Registered January-April sales were 2.9 million euro and they increased 148,000 euro from the previous year.
