Registered bed nights increased 11 percent
In December 2019, 11,500 bed nights were recorded in Tahko (+10.6 %), of which 10,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (760 nights).
9,400 nights (-0.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,100 nights (+107.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 104,000 bed nights (-3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,200 (-9.8 %) for foreigners in Tahko, in total 119,000 (-4.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

4,600 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 91.2 percent were domestic, and 8.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tahko on average 2.5 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-0.36).

Trips by Russian travelers over the eastern border increased six percent
A total of 311,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
The share of southeastern border stations was 92.3 percent.

Russian visa applications decreased 12 percent
There was a total of 56,700 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 72.6 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 545,000 euro
Registered accommodation sales in December were 545,000 euro (+110,000).
Registered January-December sales were 5.6 million euro and they increased 507,000 euro from the previous year.
