Tampere: Tourism in a nutshell
40,500 registered bed nights (February)
In February 2021, 40,500 bed nights were recorded in Tampere (-57.1 %), of which 38,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 85 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 57 percent from last year's February.
26,000 nights (-49.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 14,500 nights (-66.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 68,700 bed nights (-55.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,700 (-86.0 %) for foreigners in Tampere, in total 72,400 (-60.0 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

26,800 tourists arrived to accommodation (February)
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 58 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 96.1 percent were domestic, and 3.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tampere on average 1.5 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.35).
60 air travelers
The airport received a total of 60 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 98 percent.
Of local passengers, 71.7 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 28.3 %.
In addition, there were 74 passengers departing the airport (-97.5 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 134 (-98.0 %).

Foreign visitors and their consumption (February)
The number of foreign visitors in February was 2,300 (-82.4 %). Out of them 250 were on a daytrip and 2,100 stayed at least for one night.
The cumulative number of foreign visitors between January and February was 4,500 (-86.4 %).
Total consumption of these visitors in Tampere in February was 485,000 euro (208 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 474,000 euro and day visitors 11,400 euro. Between January and February the consumption was 930,000 euro.

Accommodation sales 1.8 million euro
Total accommodation sales in March were 1.8 million euro (-1.6 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 17.9 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.5 million euro (-1.6 million) and non-registered sales 325,000 euro (+39,500).
Total January-March sales were 6.4 million euro and they decreased 10.0 million euro from the previous year.
