Tampere: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased two percent
In June 2019, 110,000 bed nights were recorded in Tampere (+1.9 %), of which 90,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 20,100 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased four percent and foreign bed nights decreased eight percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,600 nights).
64,700 nights (-3.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 45,400 nights (+11.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 445,000 bed nights (+3.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 83,800 (-6.7 %) for foreigners in Tampere, in total 529,000 (+1.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

72,000 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 86.5 percent were domestic, and 13.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tampere on average 1.4 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.07).
10,500 international congress guests in 2019
The number of international congress quests increased 15 percent from the previous year.
There was a total of 78 congresses organized (-3.0) in 2019.
10,500 air travelers
The airport received a total of 10,500 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 13 percent.
Of local passengers, 62.9 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 37.1 %.
In addition, there were 10,500 passengers departing the airport (-13.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 21,000 (-13.5 %).

Accommodation sales 7.3 million euro
Total accommodation sales in June were 7.3 million euro (+822,000). The share of Airbnb and HomeAway was 6.6 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 6.8 million euro (+667,000) and non-registered sales 480,000 euro (+153,000).
Total January-June sales were 37.4 million euro and they increased 3.5 million euro from the previous year.
