Paid bed nights

14,100 registered bed nights

In February 2020, 14,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Tanum (-1.7 %), of which 9,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (3,800 nights).

950 rooms (-37.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 730 rooms (+19.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 19,000 registered bed nights (+10.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,900 (-14.0 %) for foreigners in Tanum, in total 26,800 (+2.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Tanum out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Tanum, length of stay in February was on average 2.6 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tanum on average 2.8 nights (+4.1 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-6.6 %).

5,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 64.2 percent were domestic, and 35.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tanum on average 2.8 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.04).
