5,900 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Tjörn (-33.6 %), of which 5,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 430 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 67 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 34 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (141 nights).

1,700 rooms (-25.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,300 rooms (-41.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 58,800 registered bed nights (-9.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,800 (-74.0 %) for foreigners in Tjörn, in total 63,700 (-24.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Tjörn out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

3,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 24 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tjörn on average 1.6 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.08).
