Tjörn: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
15,900 registered bed nights
In May 2022, 15,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Tjörn (-3.3 %), of which 15,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 850 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 176 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (320 nights).
1,700 rooms (+2.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,300 rooms (+65.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 24,900 registered bed nights (-7.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,000 (+82.9 %) for foreigners in Tjörn, in total 27,000 (-3.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.6 percent were domestic, and 5.4 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tjörn on average 2.2 nights (-0.26) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.25).
