Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In August 2019, 24,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Trelleborg (+15.3 %), of which 14,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 71 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (6,000 nights).

2,500 rooms (+14.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,400 rooms (+18.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 67,800 registered bed nights (+11.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,500 (+39.5 %) for foreigners in Trelleborg, in total 96,300 (+18.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Trelleborg out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 5.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Trelleborg, length of stay in August was on average 5.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trelleborg on average 5.0 nights (-2.5 %) and foreigners 5.2 nights (-11.8 %).

4,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 61.1 percent were domestic, and 38.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trelleborg on average 5.0 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 5.2 nights (-0.64).
