Tromsø: Tourism in a nutshell

Registered bed nights increased 151 percent
In May 2022, 60,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Tromsø (+151.4 %), of which 42,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 83 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 2,200 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 151 percent from last year's May.
28,300 nights (+114.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,500 nights (+92.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 206,000 registered bed nights (+132.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 133,000 (+1,451.1 %) for foreigners in Tromsø, in total 339,000 (+248.1 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 163 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.2 percent were domestic, and 28.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tromsø on average 1.7 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.31).

Registered accommodation sales in May were 38.0 million crowns (+23.6 million).
Registered January-May sales were 226.5 million crowns and they increased 171.0 million crowns from the previous year.
