175,000 registered bed nights

In August 2022, 175,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Trondheim (-2.6 %), of which 135,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 40,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 57 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's August.

80,800 nights (-11.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 52,700 nights (+5.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 805,000 registered bed nights (+28.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 174,000 (+152.0 %) for foreigners in Trondheim, in total 979,000 (+41.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.4 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Trondheim out of total registered bed nights was 3.4 % (-0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.2 % and foreign bed nights 2.1 %.

104,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.9 percent were domestic, and 25.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trondheim on average 1.7 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.46).
