30,400 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 30,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Trondheim (-74.3 %), of which 28,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 72 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 74 percent from last year's May.

9,100 nights (-76.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 13,900 nights (-74.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 268,000 registered bed nights (-40.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 32,800 (-37.4 %) for foreigners in Trondheim, in total 300,000 (-40.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.0 million registered bed nights (-62.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 959,000 nights (-51.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 70,600 nights (-90.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Trondheim out of total registered bed nights was 2.9 % (-1.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 2.0 %.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Trondheim, length of stay in May was on average 1.7 nights and in Norway 2.7 nights (+46.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trondheim on average 1.7 nights (-0.3 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+5.0 %).

18,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.2 percent were domestic, and 4.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trondheim on average 1.7 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.07).
