Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 220 percent

In April 2021, 34,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Trondheim (+222.5 %), of which 30,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 197 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 790 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 220 percent from last year's April.

14,500 nights (+655.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 13,200 nights (+118.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 114,000 registered bed nights (-52.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,000 (-61.7 %) for foreigners in Trondheim, in total 126,000 (-53.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.9 percent

Total of 883,000 registered bed nights (+166.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 788,000 nights (+184.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 94,300 nights (+75.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Trondheim out of total registered bed nights was 3.9 % (+0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.8 % and foreign bed nights 4.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Trondheim, length of stay in April was on average 1.7 nights and in Norway 2.8 nights (-3.0 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trondheim on average 1.7 nights (+16.0 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+34.5 %).

19,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 240 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.9 percent were domestic, and 10.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Trondheim on average 1.7 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.45).

The airport received a total of 44,400 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 138 percent.

Of local passengers, 1.3 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 98.7 %.

In addition, there were 40,300 passengers departing the airport (+121.0 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 84,700 (+129.6 %).

Registered January-April sales were 84.9 million crowns and they decreased 107.0 million crowns from the previous year.
