Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In March 2023, 181,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Tunturi-Lappi (+3.7 %), of which 97,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 83,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 26 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's March.

153,000 nights (+5.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 28,200 nights (-3.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 178,000 registered bed nights (-10.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 315,000 (+22.3 %) for foreigners in Tunturi-Lappi, in total 493,000 (+8.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 9.5 percent

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+7.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+2.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 484,000 nights (+27.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Tunturi-Lappi out of total registered bed nights was 9.5 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.9 % and foreign bed nights 17.2 %.

Length of stay was 3.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Tunturi-Lappi, length of stay in March was on average 3.8 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-6.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tunturi-Lappi on average 3.5 nights (-6.6 %) and foreigners 4.2 nights (-9.9 %).

47,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 58.5 percent were domestic, and 41.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tunturi-Lappi on average 3.5 nights (-0.34) and foreigners 4.2 nights (-0.58).
