Registered bed nights increased five percent
In March 2018, 192,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Tunturi-Lappi (+5.2 %), of which 111,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 81,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's March.
171,000 nights (+6.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 21,000 nights (-2.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 185,000 registered bed nights (-2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 296,000 (+5.4 %) for foreigners in Tunturi-Lappi, in total 482,000 (+2.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. In Tunturi-Lappi, length of stay in March was on average 4.0 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.6 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tunturi-Lappi on average 3.7 nights (-5.2 %) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+0.1 %).
48,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 62.4 percent were domestic, and 37.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Tunturi-Lappi on average 3.7 nights (-0.29) and foreigners 4.5 nights (-0.1).
