Turku Archipelago: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 28 percent (February)
In February 2020, 3,400 bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (+27.8 %), of which 2,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 590 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and foreign bed nights increased 41 percent. In total, bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (350 nights).
2,100 nights (+17.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,200 nights (+51.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 4,600 bed nights (+30.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,000 (+28.2 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 5,700 (+30.0 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.8 million bed nights (+7.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+10.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 613,000 nights (+1.9 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Turku Archipelago out of total bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,500 tourists arrived to accommodation (February)
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 1.9 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 8.4 nights (+1.4).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 119,000 euro (-13,000).
Registered January-February sales were 195,000 euro and they increased 4,000 euro from the previous year.
