Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In December 2021, 2,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (+8.7 %), of which 2,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 89 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (80 nights).

1,700 nights (+8.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 600 nights (+10.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 136,000 registered bed nights (+18.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,000 (-27.8 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 142,000 (+15.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+109.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+44.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 593,000 nights (+823.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Turku Archipelago out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Comparison of registered bed nights between regions

1,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.8 percent were domestic, and 1.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 2.0 nights (-0.17) and foreigners 6.4 nights (+4.9).
