Turku Archipelago: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased six percent
In August 2022, 26,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (+5.7 %), of which 22,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 132 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's August.
24,900 nights (+4.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (+18.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 109,000 registered bed nights (-5.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,700 (+206.5 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 121,000 (+2.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

14,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.6 percent were domestic, and 13.4 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 1.8 nights (+0.27) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.24).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 1.0 million euro (-38,100).
Registered January-August sales were 4.9 million euro and they increased 75,300 euro from the previous year.
