Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased eight percent
In April 2019, 4,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (+8.1 %), of which 3,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 960 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's April.
3,300 nights (+11.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (+0.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 8,700 registered bed nights (-3.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,500 (+5.4 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 11,200 (-1.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Turku Archipelago, length of stay in April was on average 2.2 nights and in Finland 1.9 nights (-0.4 %).
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 1.9 nights (-9.3 %) and foreigners 5.7 nights (+43.6 %).
2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.8 percent were domestic, and 8.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 1.9 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 5.7 nights (+1.3).
