Paid bed nights

2,500 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 2,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (-63.9 %), of which 2,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 94 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 52 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 95 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 64 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (71 nights).

2,100 nights (-60.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 440 nights (-74.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 10,900 registered bed nights (-20.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,600 (-20.4 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 14,500 (-20.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 300,000 registered bed nights (-81.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 280,000 nights (-74.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 19,500 nights (-95.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Turku Archipelago out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Turku Archipelago, length of stay in May was on average 2.4 nights and in Finland 2.5 nights (+43.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 2.5 nights (+22.5 %) and foreigners 1.3 nights (+77.4 %).

1,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 63 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 2.5 nights (+0.37) and foreigners 1.3 nights (-2.6).
