Registered bed nights increased 20 percent

In September 2020, 7,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (+19.9 %), of which 7,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 380 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 35 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 63 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (250 nights).

6,400 nights (+34.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,500 nights (-18.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 101,000 registered bed nights (+12.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,900 (-50.8 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 109,000 (+2.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (-32.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-12.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 92,200 nights (-82.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Turku Archipelago out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

4,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 45 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 1.6 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.68).
