Registered bed nights increased 17 percent

In October 2021, 8,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku Archipelago (+16.6 %), of which 7,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 960 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 350 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 17 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Latvia (600 nights).

7,400 nights (+16.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (+18.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 130,000 registered bed nights (+19.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,700 (-29.5 %) for foreigners in Turku Archipelago, in total 135,000 (+16.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 1.7 million registered bed nights (+47.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (+39.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 200,000 nights (+149.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Turku Archipelago out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Comparison of registered bed nights between regions

4,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku Archipelago on average 1.8 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 4.7 nights (+3.1).
