81,700 bed nights in paid accommodation (April)
Total of 81,700 bed nights (-0.9 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Turku in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 84 % and non-registered 16 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 283,000 (+19.8 %). Share of registered was 85 % and non-registered 15 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
68,600 registered bed nights (April)
In April 2023, 68,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Turku (-3.0 %), of which 61,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 35 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's April.
46,400 nights (-7.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 22,200 nights (+6.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 213,000 registered bed nights (+15.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 27,000 (+64.6 %) for foreigners in Turku, in total 240,000 (+19.4 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.2 percent were domestic, and 7.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Turku on average 1.4 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.05).
10,900 air travelers (April)
The airport received a total of 10,900 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 240 percent.
Of local passengers, 97.9 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 2.1 %.
In addition, there were 10,900 passengers departing the airport (+224.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 21,800 (+233.9 %).

There were 62,500 arriving passengers by ferries. In total, the arrivals to port decreased 14 percent. The number of departing passengers was 63,700 (-11.2 %).

Accommodation sales 4.5 million euro (April)
Total accommodation sales in April were 4.5 million euro (-42,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 9.1 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 4.1 million euro (-72,800) and non-registered sales 406,000 euro (+30,900).
Total January-April sales were 16.2 million euro and they increased 3.4 million euro from the previous year.
