31,100 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 31,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Umeå (-55.5 %), of which 29,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 44 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 55 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (270 nights).

8,200 rooms (-59.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,000 rooms (-54.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 190,000 registered bed nights (-31.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,800 (-66.2 %) for foreigners in Umeå, in total 208,000 (-37.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Umeå out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

15,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 63 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.3 percent were domestic, and 5.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Umeå on average 2.1 nights (+0.33) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.11).

2,600 air travelers

The airport received a total of 2,600 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 94 percent.

Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.

In addition, there were 2,700 passengers departing the airport (-93.8 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 5,300 (-93.9 %).
