Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In March 2018, 67,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (+1.6 %), of which 59,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,500 nights).

15,200 rooms (+13.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 27,200 rooms (-4.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 166,000 registered bed nights (+7.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 22,900 (-16.2 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 189,000 (+4.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.4 percent

Total of 4.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.7 million nights (+7.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.0 million nights (+32.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+5.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.6 nights (-5.9 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.5 %).

41,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.0 percent were domestic, and 10.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.6 nights (-0.08) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.14).
