Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In June 2018, 126,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (+6.5 %), of which 108,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 18,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (4,500 nights).

22,500 rooms (+36.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 21,300 rooms (-5.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 436,000 registered bed nights (+9.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 63,400 (-20.1 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 500,000 (+4.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.7 million nights (+2.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.0 million nights (+4.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+0.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.9 nights (-3.0 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-7.9 %).

65,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.1 percent were domestic, and 14.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.9 nights (+0.0) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.43).
