Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased one percent

In July 2018, 191,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (+0.7 %), of which 169,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 31 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's July.

21,800 rooms (+10.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,400 rooms (-12.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 606,000 registered bed nights (+8.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 85,300 (-23.1 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 691,000 (+3.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 12.9 million registered bed nights (+2.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 8.9 million nights (+0.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 4.0 million nights (+6.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in July was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+0.0 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.4 nights (-2.5 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-7.0 %).

81,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.2 percent were domestic, and 12.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 2.4 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.1).
