Paid bed nights

53,000 registered bed nights

In December 2018, 53,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (-2.3 %), of which 46,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,400 nights).

13,900 rooms (-2.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,200 rooms (-6.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 987,000 registered bed nights (+5.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 141,000 (-22.4 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 1.1 million (+1.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in December was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.6 nights (-2.6 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-6.4 %).

33,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.4 percent were domestic, and 10.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.6 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.16).
