Paid bed nights

68,000 registered bed nights

In April 2019, 68,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (-10.3 %), of which 58,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased two percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's April.

18,300 rooms (+6.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 24,800 rooms (-15.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 233,000 registered bed nights (+0.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 32,500 (+1.9 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 265,000 (+0.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+4.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 953,000 nights (+8.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in April was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+1.4 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.7 nights (+0.1 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-5.6 %).

38,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.5 percent were domestic, and 10.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.7 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.21).
