Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In October 2019, 83,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Uppsala County (+1.7 %), of which 71,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 14 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's October.

22,500 rooms (+23.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 34,800 rooms (-1.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 862,000 registered bed nights (-1.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 142,000 (+12.0 %) for foreigners in Uppsala County, in total 1.0 million (-0.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Uppsala County out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Uppsala County, length of stay in October was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.6 nights (-0.9 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.3 %).

50,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Uppsala County on average 1.6 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.16).
